January 2011 Wallpaper
Well, it's time to ring in a new year! We were pretty boring and just watched a movie at home. I finally sat down and got this put together. I wasn't sure what picture I wanted to use because I haven't been out much to photograph this month. I'm beginning to really miss the orchard around our house... I got a lot of good pictures there! I guess it's time to start broadening my horizons! Anyway, here is the calendar for January. Below is the small one (750x500 px). Click here for the larger version (2400x1600 px).

Last minute gift idea!
So many of you may have a few people on your list that you don't know what to get for them. Or, you may remember someone at the last minute. Well, here is a great idea for a last minute gift. I made this fun 4x6 calendar that can go practically anywhere. Hang it on your fridge, or put it on your desk. There are 12 individual 4x6 images with beautiful pictures for each month.

There are two options for you to purchase these. For those that want to do their own printing, you can purchase the images, and I will email you the files. You can also purchase a pre-wrapped calendar that includes a magnetic clip for hanging. The price for the gift-wrapped option includes shipping.

November 2010 wallpaper
I can't believe how quickly this year has come and gone. So much has happened in a blink of an eye! Halloween is over, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Our first one will be in just two weeks, as we celebrate with Shane's family before his parents go on their mission.
Anyway, here is this month's calendar... a little mellow, but very autumn looking. The leaves are all blown off the trees and winter is ready to set in.
Just click on the image below and add it to your desktop. For a larger version (2400×1600) click here.

Another view
This is another view from the Night lite photo. I was setting up before sunset and took a few shots. I played around with the tilt-shift effect, along with black and white and I really like the results. Which is your favorite?

Driving again
We were driving home from Fairview on Monday night after picking apples, and I had my camera out to get a few pictures of the sky and moon. What do you think? Which one is your favorite?

September 2010 Wallpaper
I've decided that I'm going to share an image each month for you to have on your desktop. This one was taken almost exactly a year ago, and has been a favorite of mine ever since. We all went to the Thanksgiving Point Gardens to enjoy the wonderful landscape and beautiful flowers. I hope you enjoy it all month long! Just click on the image below and add it to your desktop. Experimenting with film again
When it comes to film, I'm not the greatest! I have a few rolls that I just developed, and some of the pictures are from my trip to Moab in May! I have a Holga 120N, and recently I tried out my dad's German made camera, a vintage Voigtlander from post WWII era. In both cases, it's fun to see what I get back from the lab. Neither one of the cameras has a focusing screen, so it's a guessing game to figure out how far away your subject is! Here are a few selections from my latest attempts at film...
These first two were taken with the Voigtlander.

These last three are from Arches N.P. I enjoy these simple compositions because they draw you in. What do you think?

In memory of fallen trees
Today they started knocking over the trees in the orchard. So I decided to post some pictures of them in bloom.

Arches National Park
Back in May I took a trip to Arches for a photography workshop with Joel Addams. I learned a lot and Shane and I had a good time without the kids. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the trip.

Stormy weather
Recently we've had several storms roll through our neck of the woods. I've been told it's the monsoon season... in the dessert! But they're right... This pictures was from 2 years ago, and I remember that the weather was crazy. We had a pond mudhole in our backyard. The view from the frontyard was much better though!

Just back from St. George
We had a great time in St. George, even though it was pretty hot! On Sunday evening after the kids fell asleep I went out and got some shots of the St. George LDS Temple. During the day it is amazing to see the stark white temple next to the red cliffs! But night time is georgous! Here are two different views.

I hope to get back to a regular blogging schedule. Today was catching up from the weekend laundry and tidying up the house.

Another great ebook from Craft & Vision
I love anything that David duChemin writes! I've gone through Within the Frame and Vision Mongers. As well as most of the books on Craft & Vision. If you haven't checked these out yet, they are completely worth the $5! Plus he has discounts for each release, as well as combined discounts if you buy 5. Right now use REFLECT4 to buy Chasing Reflections, and REFLECT20 to buy 5 ebooks for $20.

Another something up in the air! This is a fun summer image from last year. It would look great in the kids playroom!

Fireworks!
Welcome to my new fine art blog! I decided (with a little encouragement!) to make a separate website for my fine art photography.
You will notice a few new things with this blog. First off... a new logo! I'm not sure if this is the final version yet, but I think it's kind of cool. Let me know what you think.
Second, a brand new feature that allows you to send an ecard to anyone, or share the image on facebook and twitter. If you want to purchase prints click on "Limited Edition Prints" for details.
UPDATE** the sharing toolbar is currently unavailable. Stay tuned for some new additions once it is up and running!
So on with the pictures! Who doesn't love fireworks?! I took this at an Orem Owlz game last year. I didn't have a tripod with me so I wasn't getting very good images of the starbursts and grand kabooms! But this one shows a view that most people overlook, or don't think about... What do you think?

Thanks for checking out the new site. Share this with your friends, parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, boss, neighbor, and anyone else you can think of!
